Rail Jam Recap
Greetings and Happy Fall!
On October 26th we kicked off the upcoming snowboard season with our backyard rail jam event. Although there was a lot of work and preparation involved, the results made it well with it. For those of you who are not familiar, for the backyard rail jam we construct a huge 50ft long, 8ft tall ramp in our parking lot and cover it with snow from the ice rink Zamboni.
This year we had about 45 riders come to snowboard or skateboard and we entertained about 125 guests altogether. The entire event would not have been possible without the numerous volunteers who helped us build the ramp, register riders and clean up. In addition to snowboarding and skateboarding, entertainment included a parent lounge for parents to relax and watch their riders, the Rusty Taco food truck, a raffle, and free Red Bull for all.
Riders and family had fun all day hanging out, eating tacos and drinking Red Bull. By the end of the event everyone had either won something from the competitions and raffle or caught something from the product toss. The event served as a great way to raise awareness of our shop and ministry and generated a lot of social media buzz in the following few days.
