Because of your generosity to JSAW's Action Sports Ministry Fund, JSAW invested $4,500 into the work of Inspired2Become and Christian Skaters Africa—supporting a disciple-making strategy designed to multiply leaders and reach youth across Africa in action sports. This grant wasn’t about a single event. It was about building pathways for long-term discipleship and multiplication.
The Impact
JSAW Grant Investment: $4,500
Riders who heard the Gospel in person: 300
Riders who accepted Jesus: 22
Riders engaged in ongoing discipleship: 41
Weekly Skate Clubs: Where Discipleship Begins
Inspired2Become currently runs several weekly skate clubs in South Africa. Each club provides a consistent rhythm of relationship, skating and Bible study at the end of every session. Most of the kids involved cannot afford their own skateboards. Without equipment, they can’t participate.
This grant helped remove that barrier by providing complete skateboards that draw kids into the weekly clubs—creating space for trust, discipleship, and Gospel conversations to happen over time.
Training Leaders to Multiply: ACTS Africa Multiply School
In addition to strengthening local skate clubs, Inspired2Become partnered with Christian Skaters Africa to host the ACTS Africa Multiply School—a training environment for action sports ministry leaders from across the African continent.
Leaders came from multiple countries to receive:
Discipleship and spiritual formation
Leadership development
Vision for sustainable, multiplying ministry
Skateboards for their skate club
Some of the skateboards provided by JSAW's grant were given to leaders attending the Multiply School to take back to their home countries.
These boards will be used to:
Strengthen existing skate clubs
Reach new kids in under-resourced communities
Launch new skateboard clubs where none previously existed
In every case, the skateboards serve the same purpose: connecting kids to consistent discipleship in action sports.
A Life Transformed Through Discipleship
One story from the Multiply School captures the heart of this work. A skate ministry leader from Namibia arrived discouraged and deeply negative. He struggled with correction and was focused more on past hurts than future possibilities.
Over 21 days of mentorship and discipleship, his posture shifted. By the end of the school, he was:
Open to guidance
Forward-looking and hopeful
Motivated by a renewed vision for ministry
Today, he plans to use the skateboard he received to start a skate school for underprivileged kids in Namibia, creating a new environment for outreach and discipleship in his community. That’s transforming action sports culture in action!
Thank You for Making This Possible
This grant helped fuel a movement—from local skate clubs, to leader training, to riders being impacted all over Africa. Thank you for partnering with JSAW to make riders into disciples—and disciples into leaders, across Africa and beyond.
If you would like to make more grants like this possible, please make a donation to JSAW's Action Sports Ministry Fund.
