Volunteer Position: Board Member
Tell us a little about yourself
I work in finance for UnitedHealth Group. My wife Ellie and I have been married for eight years. We have two boys, Max (age four) and Gavin (age two). I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. Occasionally, I try to find time to watch football, play golf, or ride my motorcycle.
When and how did you become a Christ-follower?
Having the blessing of being raised in a Christian home, at a young age I came to the understanding that my sin separated me from a perfect God and I could only be made right with Him by turning from my sin and trusting in Jesus alone for salvation. Today, I continue to strive to be more like Jesus every day.
How did you get connected with JSAW? Why do you serve?
I first heard about JSAW during my time volunteering in the youth ministry at Grace Church. A few years later, when I was searching for an opportunity to serve on a board of a local nonprofit, I was excited to see that JSAW was looking for someone to fill this role on its board. I have been serving on the board of directors since October 2016. I serve in this capacity to use my abilities to advance JSAW’s mission to make riders into disciples.
Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?
As a teenager, my life was greatly impacted by older guys who invested their time and energy into me and I wouldn’t be who I am today without the effort made by those men. It is always exciting and motivating to see the impact that JSAW makes in riders during some of the most pivotal years of life.
