Why Is Community Important?

Ever since Covid, people have been afraid to engage in activities with one another and this has caused community to suffer. This is a sad fact because it is community that builds lasting friendships, and creates awesome memories. God desires for us to have a healthy community. Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Jesus said in Matthew 18:20, "For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them." Healthy community is greatly important for all. JSAW's small groups are a healthy place for community.

At JSAW, we are about building friendships and awesome memories. We strive to come along side to encourage any and everyone to find their own value and purpose. This past summer JSAW took a couple riders to California on a skate trip. We got to skate some legendary spots, and meet some pro skaters like Chris Chan and Sewa Kroetkov. The riders who attended this trip will never forget that experience. Any riders who attend JSAW small groups will tell you they love the atmosphere and the community. When we ride together, lasting friendships form and continue in and through the awesome trips and events we put on. This leads to fun, crazy, awesome memories.

About 3 years ago in our old space, there was a rider who came through because he was invited by one of his friends to check out this Help Boardshop place. That same rider joined in on a Wednesday night group and his life was forever changed. He began to ask hard questions about God and found himself praying to receive Jesus as his Savior about 6 months later. Since then, he has been able to set that kind of atmosphere for every new rider who comes in here. Stories like this are constantly occurring. Every new rider gets the same feeling. People crave community and JSAW provides it. Find out how you can get more involved at https://www.jsaw.org/ride
