ACTs Global Summit
We can accomplish our vision of transforming action sports culture through partnerships around the world. ACTs is a network of action sports ministries from around the world that seeks to GATHER people, VALIDATE calling, SHARE resources and GROW leaders and ministries. Every two years we host a global summit for leaders of action sports ministries to gather together. This past week I (Jonny) was in Munich, Germany helping to lead this summit. In attendance there were 40 high level leaders representing 14 different nations and over 10 different action sports expressions. Each day we spent time in worship, prayer and Bible study. We also discussed topics like fundraising, self-care in ministry, vision casting, multi-generational ministry, partnerships with local church and the future of action sports ministry worldwide. We discovered large gaps in Russia and Asia where there are less than a handful, if any, action sports ministries. In response to this we planned our 2020 global summit for Tokyo, Japan so we can gather and train leaders where surfing, rock climbing and skateboarding will be making their debut into the Olympics. We also began planning regional summits for 2019 and cross pollination trips for the ACTs executive team to serve, equip and encourage action sports ministries in other parts of the world. ACTs was given a $25,000 matching gift to help fund all these endeavors. It was an incredible trip and I am excited to see how God continues to work in and through action sports around the world.
